Tropical Drinks for Nights Spent Outdoors
Check out some fun ideas for drinks to enjoy with your Bahia Verde furniture.
Now that we’re on the brink of spring, it’s time to enjoy the longer sunlight hours, and that means evening enjoyment outdoors. Depending on where you live, you won’t need to wait long (or at all!) to dine al fresco, but who’s to say we need to wait till summer to enjoy its feeling?
Bahia Verde furniture goes hand in hand with relaxation, so it’s only natural we decided to put together some recipes for our favorite tropical drinks to get you in the mood for spring and the coming summer.
You can enjoy these refreshing, island-inspired beverages as you dine outdoors, or by themselves. Our Adirondack Conversation Table is ideal for chips and dip, or a small charcuterie board and a drink tray. Our Cape Adirondack side tables, which come in small and large sizes, are also great for drinks and snacks.
While we’ve included some of our favorite recipes below, we have even more to choose from—check out our full list linked at the bottom of this post.
Lemon Margarita (with a salt and pepper glass rim)
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. fresh lemon juice (plus wedges for serving)
- 6 oz. mezcal
- 4 oz. orange liqueur
- Ice
- Sea salt
- Ground black pepper
Directions:
Rim: Mix equal parts salt and pepper on a plate. Wet lemon slice and dip into salt and pepper mixture.
Mixture: Place all liquids in a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice. Shake for about 30 seconds. Strain over ice into glasses. Enjoy!
If you’re having friends or neighbors over, paper parasols can be fun visual accompaniments to drinks, and they can help guests identify their libations. Cloth napkins and tablecloths in bright colors and patterns can also add a sense of fun to the occasion, even if you’re gathering simply to enjoy a summer weekday night. Plus, they’re sure to look good with our furniture, which comes in a variety of tropical colors.
Tip: Our Easy-add Cup Holder can be attached to any Bahia Verde chair, bench, or swing, and it’s the perfect accommodation for that mojito. Like all our products, it’s made of 100% recycled materials.
Watermelon Lime Gin and Tonic
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. dry gin
- Juice of ½ lime
- 4-6 mint leaves
- 1 handful cubed watermelon (or 2 oz. watermelon juice)
- 3 oz. tonic water/seltzer
- Ice
Directions:
Add the gin, watermelon cubes (or juice), mint leaves, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker. Crush all the ingredients together using a cocktail muddler.
Shake for 30 seconds.
Fill the glass with ice, strain the watermelon mixture into the glass, and top it off with tonic water.
Sip and enjoy!
And while it’s always fun to get together with neighbors or friends for drinks, occasionally it’s nice to enjoy time alone, too. If you have kids, you know how difficult it can be just to get out the door in the morning, never mind steal a moment for yourself. Our deep-set Adirondack chairs are ideal for those times when you, or you and your partner, need a little time (and a margarita). Chair arms are wide enough to hold a drink and a book, and their deep-set seats encourage true relaxation.
In addition to pairing them side by side, we think they’re great for arranging in a semicircle, for weekend mimosas with friends.
